The Walk: Reflection
August 9 , 2015
James 1:22-25
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
There is something to be said about reading and knowing the word of God. I would love more people to actually take the time to delve into God’s word more often. However, all the reading in the world and all the knowledge of the word means nothing if you do not follow it and do it!
This week, as we continue our series “The Walk”, we will be talking about reflection. In all that we read, we must reflect on these words and ponder how it changes us and how we must put it into action! Won’t you join us as we reflect on God’s word and push us to act upon following the word, which is the Truth, breathed to life by God. Come join us Sunday at 10:00am for worship and 9:00am for class.
