CRAZY LOVE: An unlikely Valentine

This Sunday is Valentine’s Day, a day we have deemed a day of LOVE! One of my favorite things to do is to ask tough life questions to little children, so when a group of 4-8 year olds answer the question what is love I am paying attention. Here are their answers:
- “Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.”
Terri – age 4 - “Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.”
Emily – age 8 - “Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.”
Noelle – age 7 - “Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.”
Elaine – age 5 - “Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.”
Mark – age 6 - “When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” (what an image!)
Karen – age 7 - “If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.”
Nikka – age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka’s on this planet)
There is something so amazing about the innocent wisdom that comes from the mouth of young children and it is no different when they educate you on how to love in a deeper and more completely. This Sunday we will be talking about something as unlikely as taking love advice from a child and that is talking about the most unlikely Valentine. It is a story that shows the CRAZIEST kind of love that is out there, and that crazy love is a story of a prophet that was told to love and marry a prostitute. Yeah you heard that right, God tells Hosea to marry a lady of the night so that the Israelites can know of the crazy love that God has for them. We would love for you to come out this Sunday to hear a story of love that will challenge your understanding for how deep Gods love is for you, for you to hear a story of a love that a man of God could show a wife that broke every vow mentioned in a wedding ceremony, but finds a way to show grace, mercy and forgiveness that could only come from the power of God. Join us as we share the story of Hosea, a Crazy Love: An Unlikely Valentine this Sunday at 10am.
