Born Legacy

This week we end our “Born” series as we talk about our Born Legacy! This week we will be talking about how Jesus came to this earth to bring reconciliation between God and His creation. What Jesus ends up doing during his time on this earth is leave a legacy for his believers to follow. We get to be part of that process; and we too get to leave His legacy with those that follow behind us as well. One of my most favorite things is to hear a great motivational speech that gets people to work harder, push further, and excel beyond what they thought they could do. This week we will get one of those win one for the Gipper type speeches that help us to understand what’s on the line being a follower of Jesus and how we need to leave it all on the field so that even if our time comes to an end the memory of what we’ve done here not for our own glory or praise but for His will last forever! Shakespeare expressed this best in his St. Crispen’s speech when he wrote:
“From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”
So lets Pick up our crosses, lets deny ourselves and follow Christ even if our blood is shed or our feelings hurt we will be victorious because on this day we band of brothers and sisters we are fighting along with the creator and savior of the world Jesus Christ!! Join us for this epic service as we end one year and begin another on the right track.
