Born: Born Ultimatum

This week in our “Born” series we will be discussing a “Born Ultimatum.” What better way to go into Christmas then to understand the true importance of Christ’s birth. Thus far we have learned the true identity of Jesus which is the true begotten of God, then from there we are able to understand is supremacy in our lives and that there is nothing greater than He, and when we can come to that conclusion we can approach this ultimatum, we can choose Jesus and choose LIFE, or we can deny who Jesus is and choose death. There are many verses that let us know that if we believe in Jesus we will not parish but have eternal life! Here are just a couple of verses we will discuss on Sunday:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
“47 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” John 6:47-51
This makes me think of every Arnold Schwarzenegger movie where he looks at the damsel in distress and as she is about to get hurt or die he says if you want to live you need to come with me, and there is a hesitation, and he yells (in the Arnold accent) “TRUST ME, TRUST ME, COME ON, follow me!” And he ends up saving the day and becomes the hero. Jesus had to come to earth to save us, he needed to be born in order to die, and through all of these things he reaches out to us and says if you want to live you need to reach out and grab my hand, and as we hesitate he says TRUST ME! What will you choose? Will you trust him? Will you let him pull you out of your sinful despair? Will you receive the gift of life by believing that Jesus is the Son of God? Let’s talk about all these things Sunday at 10am, hope to see you all there!
