This Sunday we continue our series titled, “IMAGINE” as we discuss the idea of “Imagining Renewal.”
Often times we get caught up in thinking that when we come to Christ that our lives just get easier and we carry on the rest of our earthly lives living happily ever after. Well I’ve got news for you, God, through His word, lets us know that there is a certain amount of suffering that is going to take place in our lives. This suffering helps to create some positive character qualities but it also helps us to understand that we need Him, that our world is flawed by sin, and that we need a Savior! We also see it as great news as well. In Isaiah chapter 40 verses 28-31 we are given this promise,
“The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
God knows we are going to struggle but He is bigger than our issues, He never grows weary, He will strengthen the weak, and He gives us a renewal to continue. But not a renewal to continue the same way but a renewal that will make us stronger, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We will soar on wings of eagles. We will run and not grow weary. We will walk and not be faint.
What a great promise! Join us to be blessed by the word of God, and to receive his gift of renewal!
