A Sunday morning sermon 12-10-2017 'A BABY CHANGES EVERYTHING'
This week we start or Christmas series, "A Baby Changes Everything," many of us who are parents understand this very well. When we were on our own, life was all about you, when we got married life changed a bit but for the most part stayed the same, but when that first baby came and you saw it for the first time.... Everything changed. You went home babied proofed the house, changed social life, changed sleeping patterns, changed the way you drive and maybe what you drive, changed diapers many many diapers, there are navy things you never thought you'd be doing but here you are doing them while making goo goo GA GA sounds. A Baby really does change everything. This week we will be learning about how it changed Mary. Imagine an angel coming to you telling you that you will be a mother, I know you're not married you are a virgin but yes you will be a mom. Not just any mom but the mom of the savior of the world, the son of God, it's pretty fair to say this baby will change everything. Come join us as we learn of this baby, Jesus the messiah coming into this world the baby who changes everything. See you Sunday at 930am for class and 1030am for worship. If you're looking for a place to worship where you will feel like family, where you will be accepted as your are, and challenged to become more than what you are allowing yourself to be, you should think about coming to the Elk Grove Church of Christ this morning at 930 for class and 1030am for worship. We are going to be discussing how through Jesus Christ we have the ability to live within His grace and because of that we have much to rejoice about. No matter what comes our way in life, be it tragedy, grief, loss, financial hardship, etc.. We can still rejoice because of the grace and forgiveness awarded us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on our behalf. In John 10:10 Jesus tells us that he came that we may have life and have it to the full. In our text for today we learn how to keep ourselves planted in God's favor, check these verses out, " “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
We have much to rejoice in and a God through the love of His son that wants to help us live in his glory along the way.

Hello everyone, today we are continuing our series on joy as we go through the book of Philippians. This week will be on choosing heaven. I love this verse, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
It brings me joy in knowing that with all that we endure here on this earth that brings pain and agony and grief doesn't lady forever, in fact it belongs here, but we don't, we belong to the citizenship of heaven. I'm excited that when I get called home to be with the Lord I will get that heavenly transformation to an eternal body made to be like His. We have a lot to be thankful for and what tops that list for me is a promise of eternity with my God and Savior! Hope you can join us at 930am for class and 1030am for worship, please visit egchurchofchrist.org for more information. ... See MoreSee Less
